London Book Fair Fringe
It’s almost that time again, Indie Author Fringe time. Want to be an author or expand your knowledge of self-publishing? Start with this FREE online conference, hosted by the Alliance of Independent Authors!
Save the date: March 18th
Don’t worry, if you can’t make it the sessions will still be accessible for awhile. But don’t forget! There’s loads of helpful information for both novice and expert authors, or even authors-to-be. It’s well worth setting time aside for it in your busy schedule.
I did, and I continue to look forward to more.
Last year (2016) I discovered this before I finished my first novel, The Knight’s Order, and it helped me immensely. I had no prior knowledge of self-publishing and I’m grateful for the free information they provide.
It was a lot to take in, and it still is, but you can sift through all there is at your leisure. If you feel an information overload is imminent, just relax. Take it one step at a time.
Tip: You can categorize the things you learn (writing, editing, publishing, marketing, etc.) so when you need to use/know it in the future then it’s easy to find. You can take notes on paper or computer and file them away for later. This way you don’t have to KNOW everything all at once, and if you forget, it’s right there when you need it. In addition, you can watch/read what is most beneficial first, then move on to the other content when you get a chance.
Did I mention it’s FREE? A wondrous opportunity for new authors just stepping into the world of writing and self-publishing.
Wondering when and what content will be available? Here’s the 24-hour agenda.
There are several sessions I’ll be checking out too, such as:
- HOW TO WRITE SHORT STORIES & USE THEM TO MARKET YOUR NOVEL
I’ve been playing with the idea to write short novels in addition to my main story-line. So maybe this will give me some insight into that option.
- GET YOUR BOOK OUT THERE: HOW TO BE EVERYWHERE 1: DRAFT2DIGITAL & KOBO
I’ve signed up with these two already, but I welcome the chance to learn more about them.
- Put Yourself in the Running to win Kindle’s £20,000 Storyteller Prize
They will also be talking about the new KDP Print. I’ve been wondering how things will change with CreateSpace.
Update: Here’s an article on the topic: KDP Paperbacks: A First Look
- SUCCESS WITH AUDIOBOOKS: WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW TO GET YOUR BOOK INTO AUDIO
Especially for us non-US authors. Hopefully they cover that. Fingers crossed.
AND so much more content!
They are also having a Book Description Competition. So, enter your print, ebook, or audio book descriptions before March 18. Here’s the link.
Other exciting events this year:
- June 3 (Book Expo Fringe)
- October 14 (Frankfurt Book Fair Fringe)
Be sure to check out their blog for more useful information.
I hope you enjoy the first Indie Author Fringe of 2017!
